Suspicious Visistor

"Who are you?" I asked the woman standing at the doorstep. She smiled, though it didn’t quite reach her eyes. "You may not remember me, but I am your aunt—your father's cousin." I frowned. "Sorry, but I don’t recognize you. Not even from the past five years. If you’re really Papa’s cousin, why have you never shown up before?" She hesitated. "I was—" I cut her off, my patience wearing thin. "Forget everything else. Where were you when he was hospitalized for the last two months?" Anger boiled inside me—not just because she hadn’t visited Papa, but because her sudden appearance felt suspicious. And it wasn’t just any day. Today was the day Papa’s savings and PF amount were being released. Her expression turned defensive. "I had no idea my brother was so sick. The last time I spoke to him, he was in good health and was about to travel abroad!" I studied her closely. She knew about Papa’s office-sponsored trip to Australia, bu...

Silence

Silence makes me think— Think of the times I lost myself.   It’s not a complete void, but   I’ve always found noise in my silence.   My unanswered questions   Find their answers   In screaming, silent moments.

How I create my characters?

Sometimes my friends ask me how do I write so emotional characters. How they have such a chemistry? To them I want to tell my secret, actually, no this is not a secret but all the people who indulge in writing fiction, do the same thing. The characters we create are pieces of us, the voices we always hear in our head. And the chemistry they have is not just the outlining or development of the characters but it's mostly the journey of the discovery, both for us and the characters. Some of us bleed our hidden personalities and desires into the characters. They become indivisible part of us. Their feelings become ours, their pain, joy, success and love, all what they face is directly impacting us. When we struggle they struggle and their failures do bring tears of sorrow to our eyes. That is the reason when, either the character dies or we have to kill, its really hard to do so but with heavy hearts we do that and the pain bleeds through the readers' eyes. Even when editors ask us...

Love Turned Bitter

"Choose your last words wisely," sneered the villain. Shaking her head, Amanda looked up, lifting her face from between her knees. "I love you." "Nice try, Amanda. But you can't fool me twice with the same trick. Try something new—but be careful." His gaze bore into her soul as he hissed the warning. Sobs wracked her body, uncontrollable. Everything that had happened in the past few days flashed before her eyes. If only I had held my ground a little longer, Victor would have been mine. "Are you scheming against me again, Amanda?" Victor asked, turning away from the pitiful sight before him. "No! Please, no. Stop killing me with your words," she gasped for air before adding, "Kill me with your sword if you must." She tried to rise from the wet ground, trembling, her body weak from where she had been thrown against the cold floor. Moving closer, he pressed the tip of his sword under her chin, tilting her face upward. His eye...

Lost in the pages

Lost in the pages  Found my freedom  Roaming in the worlds  Never visible Lost in the pages  I met the people  From the other side Who weren’t so strange after all, They whispered their truths, Lost in the pages Felt Emotions unspoken, Feelings once hidden  I felt the pain of distant lands, And the joy of untold places, Tears that never fell from my eyes, In the world of silent faces. Lost in the pages, I was never alone, In every line, in every word, I found a place to call my own.
